Michael Depanfilis handles shopper marketing activities involving all food, drug, mass, convenience and value channel customers. His core responsibilities include shopper marketing, sales planning and consumer promotions.

Prior to his current position, Depanfilis was senior marketing director, Reese’s Franchise. In this role, he was responsible for over $1.3 billion in annual sales and led the strategic direction of the brand. During his tenure the business consistently achieved triple-crown performance, exceeding revenue, profit, and share goals.

Depanfilis also held the position of marketing director, variety brands, where he was responsible for the strategic direction of the $1.2B portfolio, which includes Kit Kat, York Peppermint Patties, Almond Joy, Mounds, PayDay, Whoppers, Milk Duds and other regional brands. Other previous marketing positions include senior brand manager roles for The Hershey Franchise and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts. Depanfilis joined Hershey in July 2003 as brand manager, Jolly Rancher, where he played a key role in the turnaround of the business.

Depanfilis came to Hershey from Motorola, where he served in a global marketing position and Kraft Foods, where he held various sales and brand management roles.

A native of Norwalk, Conn., Depanfilis received his bachelor’s in management from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s in business administration, with a concentration in marketing and finance, from the University of Bridgeport.
